We Service Diesel After Treatment Systems
Anyone who has been driving a heavy truck modelled 2007 or after has experienced their diesel engine derating from time to time. An engine derate puts many drivers behind schedule due to being stuck on the side of the road, or not being able to get up to speed on the highway. This is where Mr. T’s Mechanical can come to the rescue and assist you with a forced burn/regeneration. We are equipped to meet you on the road 24/7 with the tools necessary to overcome a derated engine. To avoid these issues, it is recommended to service your after treatment system periodically and keep the diesel particulate filter clean. The complications that can arise from a DPF system failure also apply to other heavy diesel equipment, including agricultural, construction, and oilfield equipment. We are capable of repairing and servicing all these applications as well, and are available for service calls out at your job site. Diesel DPF System Repairs
Most occurrences of a diesel DPF system derate can be solved by forcing the regeneration process. However, in some cases a diesel particulate filter replacement may be necessary. If your after treatment system has not been maintained or cleaned, there could be excessive build up in the filter. Call us today to diagnose your system, and if necessary we will replace the filter. Other common issues for repair include DEF dosing pump failure. If you smell burning near your DEF tank, but there is no fire detected, call us to inspect right away. Not only do these pumps commonly fail, but the DEF lines commonly plug up as well, especially during the winter months. Having these repairs taken care of will help prevent further damage and ensure the longevity of your system.

After Treatment System Maintenance & DPF Cleaning
To avoid many of the common problems experienced with diesel particulate filtration systems we recommend consistent maintenance. It is common knowledge that you wouldn’t allow your engine to run for extended periods of time without regular oil changes. The same thought process should be applied to all DPF applications. Regular ongoing maintenance in the form of DPF cleaning is suggested for the longevity of the system and to avoid costly repairs. Periodic cleaning of the particulate filter should take place every 2000 hours. At Mr. T’s Mechanical, we can tear down the DPF system, send it out for cleaning, and rebuild the system to specification. Keep your truck on the road longer, or your equipment producing income efficiently with our DPF cleaning service.
